Finishing the triathlon
Except for one really big wave which I thought was going to kill me, the triathlon went pretty well. As we're going out to sea, there were two big waves. I lost some ground on the first one. The second one made me think I just had my last breath.
The wave was at least 6 feet tall and even though I tried to dive thru it (maybe I was supposed to dive under it...) it still pushed, pulled and tossed me around. I was under water for 10 or 15 seconds which seemed like an eternity. The only thing I knew to do was hold my breath until I saw sunlight and could breath again.
My overall times were much better than last year.
1/2 mile swim: 18:28
T1: 4:12 (swim to bike transition)
18 mile bike: 1:00:59
T2: 1:49 (bike to run transition)
4 mile run: 39:14
Overall: 2:04:39
